Discover the winter beauty of Fort York’s 1812-era buildings, for free. In the evening, view the Fort during a lantern tour that provides a glimpse of garrison life after dark. Tour select buildings with our interpretive staff using 19th-century lighting, and sample historic treats and drinks from the 1826 kitchen hearth. And don’t forget to bring your skates so you can glide along The Bentway Skate Trail (open from 12 pm to 9 pm), where you may be joined by a Redcoat or two. Then warm up in the Fort York Visitor Centre and enjoy a treat by local food vendors.

Fort York is one of 10 Toronto History Museums that explore where Toronto’s many pasts, presents and futures meet. The museum, a 43-acre national historic site located in the heart of downtown Toronto, is a registered archaeological site, and home to Canada’s largest collection of original War of 1812 buildings.fort
